EN 14338: 2003 stan, a European standarddardı provides a test method for assessing the transfer or migration of certain volatile and semi-volatile substances through paper and cardboard. This test method has been developed for paper and cardboard intended to come into contact with dry, non-greasy foodstuffs and baking paper and cardboard. In the latter case, modified polyphenyleneoxide (MPPO) is seen as a substitute simulant for oily contact. This material is also seen as a substitute simulation for olive oil.
This standard has also been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN 14338 Paper and cardboard in contact with foodstuffs - Similarly, conditions for the determination of migration from paper and cardboard using modified polyphenylene oxide (MPPO).
This test method is applied to evaluate the effect of food properties and compound properties on the transition from carton to food. Modified polyphenyleneoxide (MPPO) in no case underestimates migration and is considered a suitable material for dry foods.
In the tests and analyzes carried out in our organization, which has a wide range of technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and applies the most modern methods, national and international standards and legal regulations in force are complied with. Among the numerous tests performed within this framework, there are also dry foods modified polyphenylene oxide (MPPO) testing services within the scope of total migration analysis.
