Transactions regarding genetically modified products are carried out in accordance with the Biosafety Law and the Regulation on Genetically Modified Organisms and Their Products. To date, no genetically modified products for food purposes have been allowed under the aforementioned legal regulations. However, in the light of laboratory analyzes and reports prepared, 13 soybean and 23 corn species have been approved for feed use. In addition, in order to ensure the inspection and traceability of these products, necessary inspections are carried out during their circulation, processing and storage within the country.
Genetically modified soybean strain MON87769 designed by Monsanto is also a herbicide-tolerant soybean. This soybean strain was developed using agrobacterium tumefaciens transformation and was intended to alter the lipid profile of the extracted oil. Molecular characterization of soybean MON 87769 did not cause safety problems. This type of soy differs from its traditional counterpart in its fatty acid profile. In the safety assessment, MON87769 soybean strain found to cause no concern regarding potential toxicity and allergenicity.
In the test, analysis, measurement and evaluation studies carried out in our organization, national and international standards and applicable legal regulations are complied with and reliable and impartial results are obtained. These studies are based on the latest technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and modern methods. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, MON87769 soybean type determination and quantity analysis services are also available.
