The genetically modified MON87769 soybean strain, designed by Monsanto, is also a herbicide-tolerant soybean strain. This soybean strain was developed using the transformation of Agrobacterium tumefaciens, aiming to alter the lipid profile of the extracted oil. Molecular characterization of the MON 87769 soybean strain has been determined to not pose any safety concerns. This soybean strain differs from its conventional counterpart in its fatty acid profile. In the safety assessment conducted, it was found that the MON87769 soybean strain did not raise any concerns regarding potential toxicity or allergenicity.
