According to Regulation (EC) 1223/2009, the use of certain substances in the manufacture of cosmetics is prohibited or prohibited. As a result, all cosmetic products must be tested for Traces and Impurity to ensure product compatibility and consumer safety. The presence of traces and impurities is permitted provided that such presence complies with product safety.
EUROLABis GMP accredited to test substances as specified in the cosmetic regulation, as well as various traces to strengthen cosmetic safety and cosmetic manufacturing processes. We detect Heavy Metals, Impurities, Nitrosamines, Allergens and Residual solvents, among others.
Heavy metals
Impure
nitrosamines
We proceed to N-nitrosamine determination and quantification for cosmetics and personal care products. The formation of nitrosamines in cosmetics is caused by the reaction between amines and amino derivatives in the presence of nitrosing agents such as NDELA (N-nitrosodiethanolamine) that form harmful and potentially carcinogenic substances. The European limit of 50 ppm for nitrosamines should also apply to raw materials and finished products containing Nitrosamine. N-nitrosamine impurities in cosmetics can be used in hair dyes, nail varnishes, etc. It can be found in the products.
allergens
Fragrance allergens are substances or mixtures found in fragrances or cosmetic products containing naturally derived ingredients. These ingredients can trigger allergy reactions such as allergic contact dermatitis and pose a high risk of consumer sensitization. EUROLABAt , we perform allergen screening for cosmetics and personal care products. Our highly interactive chemical team has increased the number of allergens to be detected to 57. Our method of analysis was achieved via Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectometry, GC-MS and remains in line with the existing regulatory framework of EC Reg 1223/2009, SCCS 1459 and the '2012 Opinion'.
