EN 13032-4 Light and Lighting - Measurement and Presentation of Photometric Data of Lamps and Luminaires - Part 4: LED Lamps, Modules and Luminaires

EN 13032-4, a European standard, describes the requirements for measuring the electrical, photometric and colorimetric quantities of LED lamps, modules, light motors and luminaires for operation with alternating current or direct current supply voltages, possibly together with the relevant control gear. The photometric and colorimetric quantities covered in this standard include total luminous flux, luminous efficacy, partial luminous flux, luminous intensity distribution, center beam intensities, luminance and luminance distribution, chromaticity coordinates, relative color temperature, color rendering index, and spatial uniformity of chromaticity. However, this standard does not cover LED packages and products based on OLEDs (ie organic LEDs). The term LED product, LED device, or device under test generally includes LED lamps, modules, light engines or luminaires.

For the purposes of this standard,

  • Electric light source refers to the primary light source that converts electrical energy into optical radiation.
  • Light-emitting diode (LED) refers to solid-state equipment containing a pn junction that emits incoherent optical radiation when excited by an electric current. This definition is independent of the presence of enclosures and terminals. The output is a function of its physical structure, the material used, and the excitation current. Optical emission can be in the ultraviolet, visible or infrared wavelength regions.
  • LED package refers to a single electrical component that essentially encapsulates one or more LED molds, possibly including optical elements and thermal, mechanical and electrical interfaces. An LED package is a separate component and part of the LED module or LED lamp.
  • LED light source refers to an electric light source based on LED technology. A luminaire may contain LED light sources, but is not itself considered a light source. For an LED luminaire, the LED light source represents one or more LED lamps or LED module(s).

Our organization, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it has given for businesses in various sectors, EN 13032-4 measurement of photometric data of lamps and fixtures and It also provides testing services for LED lamps, modules and fixtures.
