The IEC 61960-3 standard defines performance tests for secondary lithium single cells and batteries for portable applications, and describes the designations, markings, dimensions, and other requirements. The purpose of this standard is to provide buyers and users of secondary lithium batteries and batteries with a set of criteria by which to evaluate the performance of secondary lithium batteries and batteries offered by various manufacturers. Portable applications include hand-held equipment, portable equipment and mobile equipment.
The IEC 61960-4 standard defines performance tests for coin secondary lithium batteries and batteries for backup power supply such as portable applications and memory backup applications, and describes the designations, markings, dimensions and other requirements. The purpose of this standard is to provide buyers and users of coin secondary lithium cells and batteries with a set of criteria by which to evaluate the performance of coin secondary lithium cells and batteries offered by various manufacturers.
The IEC 61960-4 standard provides the required minimum level of performance and a standardized methodology by which the test is performed and the results of this test are reported to the user. Therefore, users will be able to determine the viability of commercially available batteries and batteries through the declared specification and thus select the most suitable battery or battery for the intended application. This standard covers coin secondary lithium batteries and batteries with a range of chemicals. This standard also provides guidelines for equipment designers using lithium batteries.
