RUSSIA GOST R & CU TR

In February 2013, the national Russian certification system GOST R and the national Russian technical "Safety of Machinery Equipment" regulation were withdrawn.

At the same time, the new Customs Union Technical Regulation (CU TR) for most electrical products entered into force in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

The previously issued GOST R certificates will be valid until March 15, 2015. After that, the new EAC mark must be used.

The Joint Production Mark will be used for marking products in the Customs Union (CU) and the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC or EurAsEC). The Customs Union consists of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. Among the EAEC countries are the CU countries, as well as Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. This mark is similar to the CE mark for product safety of the European Union.

Note: There are some changes in CU TR for mass-produced product manufacturers.

Here are some of the most important changes:

  • The certificate applicant must have a formal relationship (contract) with a Russian representative legal entity. With GOST, this was not required.
  • Mandatory factory audits are carried out by a Russian certification body. With GOST, a test lab can do this.

EUROLAB , can work in partnership with the Russian DIAMOND Group for market access to Russia and CIS countries. DIAMOND is a Russian accredited Authorized Assessment Body and can provide product certification services for any North American company planning to enter the Russian Federation (RF) market.
