Many tasks that a cell must perform, such as movement and the synthesis of macromolecules, require energy. Therefore, a large part of cell activities are directed towards obtaining energy from the environment and using it for energy-requiring reactions. Enzymes control the rates of all chemical reactions within the cell. In short, cells must constantly expend the energy obtained from the environment. The production and use of metabolic energy is therefore essential to all cell biology.

Metabolizable energy, or metabolic energy, is food energy used by tissues. This value is the most meaningful measure of food energy as it represents the energy that the animal can actually use.
Soybean meal used as animal feed contributes 20-30 percent of metabolizable energy in most poultry diets. Therefore, an accurate assessment of the caloric value is required for the correct feed formulation. Although soybean meal has more gross energy than corn, the carbohydrate fraction is poorly digested and absorbed. The metabolic energy value of soybean meal is therefore between 50-60 percent of its gross energy. The main factor affecting the metabolic energy value of soybean meal is the fiber in the husk.
In our organization, testing, analysis, measurement, and evaluation studies comply with national and international standards and current legal regulations, ensuring reliable and unbiased results. Among the numerous tests conducted within this scope are feed analysis services – including the calculation of metabolic energy values.
