Cationic surfactants are not found in ordinary cleaning products, but they are active ingredients in fabric softeners that represent an important group of detergent products. Cationic surfactants are used much less frequently in laundry detergents because of their tendency to adsorb rapidly to fabric and soil (both have negatively charged surfaces under normal conditions). With this adsorption feature on fabrics, it is mostly used for fabric softening.

Surfactants are easier to handle and incorporate into liquid formulations than powders. For this reason, today's heavy-duty liquid detergents typically contain higher levels of surfactant than powder and generally offer better performance for removing oily stains.
The ISO 2871-2 standard, designed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), provides a method for the determination of low molecular mass cationic active materials. The method is also suitable for other cationic-active materials. The standard in question has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN ISO 2871-2 Surfactants - Detergents - Determination of cationic active substance content - Part 2: Cationic active substance with low molecular mass (between 200 and 500).
In the tests and analyzes carried out in our institution, which has a wide range of technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and applies the most modern methods, national and international standards and legal regulations in force are complied with. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are also low molecular mass cationic active substance determination services.
