Determination of Zeloids

Determination of Zeloids

Zeloite is often referred to as a boiling stone. Today the term refers to over 200 different minerals with all kinds of interesting uses, from water softeners and cat litter to animal feed and industrial catalysts.

Determination of Zeloids

Zeolites are hydrated aluminosilicate minerals made from interconnected alumina and silica tetrahedra. In simpler terms, they are solids with a crystalline structure, consisting of aluminum, oxygen and silicon elements, with alkaline-earth metals such as sodium, potassium and magnesium, and water molecules in the spaces between them. There are about 40 natural zeolites that form in both volcanic and sedimentary rocks. around 150 artificial zeolite is present.

Zeolites are very stable solids that resist environmental conditions unlike many other materials. High temperatures do not bother them, because they have quite high melting points (over 1000 degrees) and do not burn. They are also resistant to high pressures. They are insoluble in water or other inorganic solvents and do not oxidize in air. However, its fibrous forms are suspected to be carcinogenic. Since they are not reactive, they do not have any harmful environmental effects.

One of the biggest daily uses of zeolites is in water softeners and water filters. Many everyday laundry and dishwasher detergents contain zeolites to remove calcium and magnesium and soften water.

In the tests and analyzes carried out in our organization, which has a wide range of technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and applies the most modern methods, national and international standards and legal regulations in force are complied with. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are also services for the determination of zeloids.
