Sampling from Solid Wastes (TS 12090)

The standard “TS 12090 Sampling Rules from Solid Wastes” published by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) includes an application for sampling from solid wastes.

Sampling and analysis of waste only provides evidence of the consistency of the waste. Otherwise, it will not be accepted as an evidence for accepting the sampled material as waste. For this material to be identified as waste, further control or examination of the conditions of the waste is required. A more detailed sampling procedure is required for environmental purposes.

There are essentially three different types of waste: non-hazardous waste, hazardous waste, and municipal (household) waste. On the other hand, liquid wastes are grouped as solid wastes and sludge wastes.

Analysis of certain solid wastes in terms of physical and chemical properties in the hazardous waste management system required. Solid waste management is implemented by enterprises in order to prevent solid wastes from harming human health and the environment. The methods mentioned require the collection, reuse, recovery, storage of solid wastes and the planned implementation of all these processes.
