Lactic Acid and Citric Acid Analysis in Biocidal Products

A biocidal product is a product with an active substance intended to destroy, deter, render harmless, inhibit their movement or otherwise exert a control effect on harmful or unwanted organisms. The active ingredient in a biocidal product may be a so-called natural oil or extract, a chemical or a microorganism, virus or fungus. If the effect of a product is purely physical, then there can be no talk of a biocidal product.

Lactic Acid and Citric Acid Analysis in Biocidal Products

Examples of biocidal products include antifouling paints, disinfectants, wood preservatives, preservatives for aqueous products, insecticides, animal repellents, and fungal or antimicrobial products. Today, there are 22 types of biocidal products. There is a separate biocidal product for each active substance. These products are regulated in the Biocidal Products Regulation published by the Minister of Health in our country.

Lactic acid is a chemical byproduct of anaerobic respiration (the process by which cells produce energy without oxygen around them). Lactic acid is a constant and harmless presence in the body. Citric acid is a naturally occurring compound in citrus fruits, especially lemons, that gives it a sour taste. The citric acid form produced is generally used as an additive in food, cleaning agents and nutritional supplements. But this form is different from the natural one.

In the test, analysis, measurement and evaluation studies carried out in our organization, national and international standards and applicable legal regulations are complied with and reliable and impartial results are obtained. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are lactic acid and citric acid analysis services in biocidal products.
