The EN 45545-2 standard, a European standard, describes the reaction to fire performance requirements for materials and products used in railway vehicles.

The operating and design categories defined in this standard are used to determine the hazard levels used as the basis for a classification system. The EN 45545-2 standard defines test methods, test conditions and reaction to fire performance requirements for each hazard level. However, it is not the purpose of this standard to describe the measures that ensure the protection of vehicles in the event of a fire.
In the EN 45545-2 standard, primarily basic fire safety targets are determined. The design of rolling stock and the products used should have the purpose of limiting fire development to achieve an acceptable level of safety when an ignition event occurs. In this way, in the event of a fire, there may be a high probability of passengers and personnel to escape to a safe place, unaided, and respond to the fire.
Hazard levels were determined using the relationship between operating categories and design categories defined in standard EN 45545-1. Hazard levels are used for material fire safety requirement classification.
In fact, the EN 45545 standard consists of the following sections under the heading "Railway applications - Fire protection in railway vehicles":
Among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors, our organization also provides test services for fire behavior of materials and components for fire protection purposes in railway vehicles within the scope of EN 45545 standard, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
