Previous safety assessments investigated allergenicity, acute oral toxicity, sub-chronic toxicity, significant equivalence with conventional comparators, and environmental impacts. Results from these studies showed that certain proteins are unlikely to be allergenic or toxic to humans. In short, TC1507 corn has been determined to be as safe and nutritious as conventional corn. TC1507 corn is not expected to behave differently from conventional corn in terms of spreading potential, gene flow to wild relatives, or impact on non-target organisms.
