IEC 60068-2-7 Basic Environmental Test Procedures - Part 2-7: Tests - Test Ga and Guidance: Acceleration, Steady State

The IEC 60068-2-7 standard, published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), defines a test method for determining the structural suitability and satisfactory performance of components and equipment when subjected to forces generated with constant acceleration.

IEC 60068-2-7 Basic Environmental Test Procedures - Part 2-7: Tests - Test Ga and Guidance: Acceleration, Steady State

The purpose of this test method is to prove the structural suitability and satisfactory performance of components, equipment, and other electrotechnical products when subjected to forces produced by constant acceleration environments (other than gravity) occurring in moving vehicles, particularly flying vehicles, and to demonstrate the structural suitability and satisfactory performance of rotating parts and projectiles and for certain components. to provide integrity testing.

Because natural weather is variable and unpredictable, electronic products are easily exposed to the effects of environmental conditions such as extreme cold and dry heat. Under these circumstances, this standard is of great help. This standard is an environmental test method specific to individual sample types. Specifically, it is used to evaluate the adequacy of electrotechnical products and electronic equipment for measurements and tests under these conditions. This test method is used to perform many regulatory and reproducible environmental, climatic, dynamic and combined tests under atmospheric conditions.

The IEC 60068-2-7 standard is primarily designed to test two types of properties of samples:

  • Practical operating performance at specified temperature, humidity, other environmental conditions and combinations of these conditions
  • Ability to withstand rough use during transportation, storage and installation

Essentially, the IEC 60068 standard consists of the following three parts under the main title of "Environmental tests":

  • Part 1: General and guidance
  • Part 2: Tests - All parts
  • Part 3-3: Supporting documents and guidance - Seismic testing methods for equipment

During the IEC 60068-2-7 test method, acceleration conditions are obtained by a centrifugal force directed towards the center of the rotating system . However, in some special cases, the sample is sensitive to gyroscopic couplers, and this test can only be performed with a machine that applies linear acceleration.

Our organization also provides acceleration and steady state testing services among basic environmental tests within the scope of IEC 60068-2-7 standard, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors. .
