The ISO 7027-1 standard, published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), presents two quantitative test methods for determining water turbidity using optical nephelometers or turbidimeters :

This standard has also been published in our country by TSE with the following title: TS EN ISO 7027-1 Water quality - Turbidity determination - Part 1: Quantitative method.
The turbidity measured according to the first method in the mentioned standard is expressed in nephelometric turbidity units (NTU). Results typically range between <0,05 NTU and 400 NTU. Depending on the device design, it can also be applied to waters with higher turbidity.
The turbidity measured according to the second method is expressed in formazine attenuation units (FAU). Results generally range from 40 FAU to 4000 FAU.
Turbidity measurements may be affected by the presence of dissolved light absorbers (colorants). Such effects can be minimized by making measurements at wavelengths greater than 800 nm.
In the tests and analyzes carried out in our organization, which has a wide range of technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and applies the most modern methods, national and international standards and legal regulations in force are complied with. Turbidity determination (TS EN ISO 7027-1) services are among the numerous tests performed in this context.
