Within the scope of the National Environmental Methods Index (NEMI), the SM 2510 B method, which includes a test method for conductivity determination, has been developed.

Conductivity is a measure of the ability of an aqueous solution to carry an electric current. This ability depends on the presence of ions, their total concentration, mobility and valence, and measurement temperature. Solutions of many inorganic compounds are fairly good conductors. In contrast, organic compound molecules that do not dissociate in aqueous solution conduct a very weak current. Essentially, conductivity is the opposite expression of resistance.
The conductivity of a solution is measured between two spatially fixed and chemically inert electrodes. In order to avoid polarization on the electrode surfaces, conductivity measurement is made with an alternating current signal. The conductivity of a solution is directly proportional to the electrode surface area and inversely proportional to the distance between the electrodes.
In general, conductivity measurements are made in advanced laboratories for the following purposes:
In the tests and analyzes carried out in our institution, which has a wide range of technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and applies the most modern methods, national and international standards and legal regulations in force are complied with. Conductivity determination (SM 2510 B method) services are among the numerous tests performed in this context.
