Determination of Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds (EPA 8270 E Method)

Determination of Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds (EPA 8270 E Method)

The EPA 8270 E method, developed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), describes a test method for the determination of semivolatile organic compounds: EPA method 8270E (SW-846): Semivolatile organic compounds by Gas chromatography / Mass spectrometry (GC-MS) .

Determination of Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds (EPA 8270 E Method)

EPA's selected analytical methods for environmental remediation and recovery are methods for analyzing wipe samples containing solid, non-potable water, drinking water, and certain semi-volatile organic compounds.

The method is used to determine the concentration of semi-volatile organic compounds in extracts prepared from many solid waste matrices, soil, air sampling media and water samples. Direct injection of a sample can be used in limited applications. The list of compounds determined by this method is included in the standard.

The EPA 8270 method is used to quantify many neutral, acidic and basic organic compounds that are soluble in methylene chloride. Such compounds include polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons and phenols, including pesticides, phthalate esters, organophosphate esters, nitrosamines, aldehydes, ethers, and aromatic nitro compounds.

In the tests and analyzes carried out in our organization, which has a wide range of technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and applies the most modern methods, national and international standards and legal regulations in force are complied with. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are also services for the determination of semi-volatile organic compounds (EPA 8270 E method).
