The standard “ISO 2248 Packaging - Completed filled transport packages - Vertical drop impact testing” developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) describes a method for performing a vertical drop impact test on a completed filled transport package. This method can be performed as a single test to investigate the effects of vertical impact or as part of a series of tests designed to measure the ability of a distribution system to withstand a vertical impact hazard.

This test method is based on the principle that the test package is lifted onto a hard flat surface and released to impact this surface after a free fall. Atmospheric conditions, drop height and package __cpLocation are predetermined.
Equipment used in this test method includes:
Under normal conditions, the provided impact surface,
Additionally, the device must meet material requirements and tolerances.
The test suite should normally be populated with the intended contents. However, simulated or dummy contents may be used, provided that the dimensions and physical properties of these contents are as close as possible to the intended contents.
It is necessary to ensure that the test suite is closed normally as if it were ready for deployment. If simulated or fake content is used, it is necessary to ensure that the normal shutdown method is still used.
The package is conditioned in accordance with one of the conditions described in the standard “ISO 2233 Packaging - Completed, filled transport packages and unit loads - Preparation for testing”.
Whenever possible, testing should be performed under the same atmospheric conditions used for conditioning, except where this is critical to the materials or package application. In other cases, testing should be performed under atmospheric conditions as close as possible to those used for conditioning.
During the test, the test package is lifted and held in a predetermined position at a height within plus/minus 2 percent of the predetermined drop height defined by the distance between the lowest point of the package at the moment of release and the nearest point on the impact surface. The test package is then lifted. The test package is released from the predetermined position within the following tolerances:
The velocity at impact must be within plus/minus 1 percent of the velocity that would be achieved in free fall.
Our organization has a strong staff that closely follows the developments in the world in the field of science and technology and constantly improves itself. Among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies provided for businesses in various sectors, there are also test services in accordance with the "ISO 2248 Packaging - Completed, filled transport packages - Vertical impact test by dropping" standard.
