ISO 18416 Cosmetics - Microbiology - Search for Candida Albicans

The ISO 18416 standard, developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), offers test methods for the detection of the microorganism candida albicans in cosmetic products. Microorganisms in this standard may differ from country to country according to national practices or regulations.

In order to ensure product quality and safety for consumers, it is recommended to perform an appropriate microbiological risk analysis first to determine the types of cosmetic products to which this standard applies. Products with low microbiological risk, such as products with low water activity, hydro-alcoholic products and products with extreme pH values, are subject to the ISO 29621 standard.
