Patch testing helps you assess the tolerability of your cosmetics and reveals possible irritants and allergic effects. EUROLAB Dermatological compatibility tests comply with guidelines for the use of human volunteers in compatibility testing of finished cosmetic products. These include patch tests and human repetitive insult patch tests (HRIPT).
Our Patch Testing Methods
We perform established patch protocols such as patch tests and human repeat defamation patch tests (HRIPT) based on current guidelines to evaluate non-irritant and hypoallergenic claims for cosmetics.
Patch testing was performed on 10, 12, 20 or 30 volunteers. However, you can customize your number of subjects depending on your needs.
During a patch test, we apply the trace of the ingredient or finished product on an occlusive patch. We then apply the patch to adult volunteers for 48 hours, directly on the skin of their backs.
Our experienced dermatologists make a clinical observation of the effects on the skin after the patch is removed. Irritant potential is ranked according to a predetermined scale corresponding to the degree of irritation.
Results are classified as follows:
HRIPT Method
We use the human repeated insult patch test (HRIPT) to examine skin compatibility and the absence of allergic potential of cosmetic products. This is evaluated after repeated application to the skin under extreme experimental conditions.
