ATA SPEC 100 Manufacturers' Technical Data

The ATA SPEC 100 standard provides an industry-wide standard for aircraft systems numbering, commonly referred to as ATA system or partition numbers. ATA standards continue to evolve today.

Parts of the ATA SPEC 100 standard refer to the numbering system and reference standards for commercial aircraft documentation. Different aircraft systems and procedures are detailed, allowing personnel to quickly and easily understand specific areas of commercial aircraft. It also provides maintenance and repair technicians, aircraft, suppliers, and others with detailed information on what parts are, what they do, how to repair them, and more.

Today, the ATA SPEC 100 standard has been merged with the ATA SPEC 2100 standard.

Under each ATA part category, there are various parts listed by part numbers, descriptions, ATA numbers, and ATA parts. ATA divisions, also known as ATA 100 system codes, refer to the classification of parts organized by the Air Transport Association. These numbers are typically found in any component maintenance manual for any civil aircraft, and a category may consist of several subcategories for different parts. For example, ATA Chapter 22 refers to air conditioning, i.e. ATA Chapter 22 parts, shutoff valves, fans, rotary actuators, check valves, butterfly valves, outside air valves, cabin pressure valves, regulator valves, speed control valves, ducts, may fall into any subcategory compatible with siphon fittings and the like.

It is essential that aircraft maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with the approved aviation standard and that all maintenance works are done with reference in terms of documentation.
