Developed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the EPA 2 method describes a test method for determining the bulk gas velocity and volumetric flow rate (type S Pitot tube): Method 2 Velocity - S type Pitot.

This method does not include all the features (e.g. equipment and materials) and procedures (e.g. sampling) required for its performance. Some materials are included for reference from other methods in this section. Therefore, in order to obtain reliable results, people using this method should at least have extensive knowledge of additional test methods (eg EPA method 1).
This method is applied to determine the average velocity and volumetric flow rate of a gas stream. This method cannot be applied to measurement areas that do not meet the criteria for Method 1. Also, the method cannot be used for direct measurement in cyclonic or rotating gas streams.
When unacceptable conditions exist, alternative procedures, subject to manager's approval, should be used to make accurate flow rate determinations.
In the test, analysis, measurement and evaluation studies carried out in our organization, national and international standards and applicable legal regulations are complied with and reliable and impartial results are obtained. These studies are based on the latest technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and modern methods. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are also flue gas S-type pitot tube velocity determination services (EPA 2 method).
