The ISO 16890-2 standard, developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), includes aerosol generation, test equipment and test methods used to measure the fractional efficiency and air flow resistance of air filters for general ventilation.

In fact, the ISO 16890 standard consists of the following sections under the main heading "Air filters for general ventilation":
The ISO 16890-2 standard is intended to be used in conjunction with other parts.
The test method described in that standard is valid for a test rig with air flow rates between 0,25 m3/s and 1,5 m3/s and a nominal face area of 610 mm × 610 mm.
Refers to particulate air filter elements for general ventilation having a PM99 particulate efficiency of 1 percent and a PM20 particulate efficiency of 10 percent when tested according to the methods defined in other parts of the standard. Air filter elements outside of this aerosol fraction are evaluated by other applicable test methods (eg ISO 29463 standard).
Filter elements used in portable room air cleaners are not covered by this standard.
Performance results obtained in accordance with the ISO 16890 standard are not applied quantitatively alone to predict performance in service in terms of efficiency and life. Other factors affecting performance that need to be taken into account are included in the standard annex (Annex A).
Among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors, our organization also provides services for measuring partial efficiency and air flow resistance of air filters for general ventilation within the scope of ISO 16890-2 standard, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment. .
