Determination of Oxygen (O2) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) (TS ISO 12039)

Determination of Oxygen (O2) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) (TS ISO 12039)

The ISO 12039 standard, published by the International Standards Organization (ISO), describes the basic structure and most important performance features of automatic measurement systems for carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2) and oxygen (O2) used in stationary source emissions. This standard describes methods and equipment for measuring the concentrations of these gases.

Determination of Oxygen (O2) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) (TS ISO 12039)

In our country, this standard has also been published by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) under the title: TS ISO 12039 Stationary source emissions - Determination of mass concentrations of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and oxygen in flue gas - Performance characteristics of automatic measurement systems.

The method allows continuous monitoring with permanently installed carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and oxygen emissions measurement systems. For example, it describes extractive systems and non-extractive systems in conjunction with analyzers operating on the following principles:

  • Infrared absorption (carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide)
  • Paramagnetism (oxygen)
  • Zirconium oxide (oxygen)
  • Electrochemical cell (oxygen)
  • Tunable laser spectroscopy (carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and oxygen)

Other instrumental methods may also be used, provided they meet the minimum requirements recommended in this standard.

In the test, analysis, measurement and evaluation studies carried out in our organization, national and international standards and applicable legal regulations are complied with and reliable and impartial results are obtained. These studies are based on the latest technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and modern methods. Among the numerous tests performed in this context, there are also oxygen (O2) and carbon monoxide (CO) determination (TS ISO 12039) services.
