The standard "TS 2342 Air pollution measurement methods, setting up and operating method of steerable sediment measuring device" published by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE), is used for the collection and determination of particle-shaped impurities in the atmosphere, which are precipitated by their own weight or due to factors such as rain and similar weather conditions, according to their source. It regulates the principles for the construction, installation and operation of sediment measuring equipment.

While preparing the said standard, the European standard BS 1747-2 was taken as a basis (Methods for measuring air pollution - Determination of suspended matter concentration). This standard describes the construction, use of comparative apparatus with an arbitrary standard and absolute (weighing) method for the detection of fine suspended particles (smoke).
The TS 2342 standard specifies the requirements for the construction, installation and use of apparatuses for the estimation of suspended matter in the atmosphere. In the proposed simple method, the darkness of the stain formed when the air is filtered through white paper is observed and the smoke concentration in an air sample obtained from a standard smoke type is calculated. In the more complex method, the weight of the material filtered from the air sample gives a direct measure.
In the test, analysis, measurement and evaluation studies carried out in our organization, national and international standards and applicable legal regulations are complied with and reliable and impartial results are obtained. These studies are based on the latest technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and modern methods. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are immission (environmental air) precipitating dust determination (TS 2342) services.
