In differential pressure drop leak detection, the test measures the rate of pressure loss between the reference volume and the part volume as the leak. This method is fast, reliable, and sensitive enough to detect small leaks.
Depending on the test application, differential pressure drop leak detection provides a higher level of sensitivity than standard pressure drop tests. Object size and test range both affect the sensitivity of the test and are not considered an ideal method for testing parts made of elastic materials.
