Positive pressure is pressure within a system that is greater than the surrounding environment. If there is any leakage in the positive pressure system, it will disperse into the surrounding environment.

Generally, a leak is an undesirable flow of gas or liquid from the wall of a container due to a defect such as a hole, crack, or bad seal. Leaks require a pressure difference to create the flow, and they always flow from high pressure to low pressure. Typically, leaks move from positive pressure inside an object to atmospheric pressure outside an object. However, this is not always the case, as a leak could happen into an object evacuated from the atmosphere. But thinking this way is helpful in evaluation because the units and terminology are based on this model.
Positive pressure fluid leak tests generally focus on: component size and internal volume, leakage limit, hidden internal volumes that affect leak measurements, whether parts are clean and dry, whether there is access to the interior, or whether it is a closed unit, rigid or flexible , whether the parts are at ambient temperature and the surface quality of any sealing surfaces.
Positive pressure testing is a widely used technique in tank engineering. When dealing with large vessels and the long test periods they require for the pressure drop therein, it may be necessary to consider the effects of temperature changes under certain conditions. As a result, for example, the system may cool below the saturation pressure for water vapour, causing water to condense. This should be taken into account when evaluating the pressure drop.
When performing a positive pressure leak test, a test gas (usually helium) is used to fill the device under examination and create a slight positive pressure. This gas will pass out through the leaks and will be detected outside the device. Leaks are found by leak sprays or soap bubbles, or by a leak detector and sensing unit when helium is used as the test gas.
Our organization also provides positive pressure liquid leak test services with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment, among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors.
