In the European standard EN 13976-2, the transportation conditions, system requirements and test methods of incubators, which are among the rescue systems, are explained. This standard has also been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN 13976-2 Rescue systems - Transport of incubators - Part 2: System requirements.

The aforementioned standard describes the requirements for a transport incubator system used in emergency or planned transport work and required for the care and treatment of infants. Requirements are included in this standard to ensure proper operation of equipment during transport, such as monitors, respirators, infusion pumps, extra bodily lung support systems and gas supply, and to ensure safe transport for infants and operators.
This European standard also states that the equipment or systems will not interfere with the functions of the transport road and air ambulance. This standard does not describe requirements for vehicles and devices. These requirements are contained in other relevant standards. However, transport incubators are normally combined with other equipment to form a transport incubator system.
Incubators are equipment used to create suitable environmental conditions for a newborn baby. They are used for premature births or, in some cases, for full-term babies. They are used in conjunction with other medical equipment to ensure babies who need extra support have the best possible environment and continuous monitoring. There are many reasons why a baby might need an incubator: premature birth, breathing problems, infection, the effects of gestational diabetes, jaundice, prolonged and traumatic labor, and low birth weight, among others.
Transportation conditions, system requirements and testing services of incubators, which are one of the EN 13976-2 recovery systems, are also provided by our organization within the scope of laboratory services.
