The ISO 10079-3 standard, developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), describes the characteristics and test methods of aspirators (suction equipment) fed from a vacuum or positive pressure source. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN ISO 10079-3 Medical aspiration equipment - Part 3: Aspiration equipment fed from a vacuum or positive pressure source.

The said standard describes safety and performance requirements for medical aspiration equipment fed from a venturi suction producing vacuum or positive pressure gas source. Generally speaking, the venturi effect is the drop in pressure that occurs when a liquid passes through a constricted section of a pipe. This standard also covers equipment connected to medical gas pipeline systems or cylinders and venturi connections. Equipment defined in this standard can be stand-alone or part of an integrated system.
The ISO 10079-3 standard sets out requirements for medical aspiration equipment fed from a vacuum or positive pressure gas source producing venturi suction. Additional requirements for suction equipment intended for use in the field or during transport are contained in this standard.
The ISO 10079-3 standard does not apply to:
Our organization also provides testing services for aspirators (suction equipment) fed from an ISO 10079-3 vacuum or positive pressure source within the scope of laboratory services.
