TS EN ISO 5359 Anesthesia and Respiratory Equipment - Low Pressure Hose Fittings For Use With Medical Gases

TS EN ISO 5359 Anesthesia and Respiratory Equipment - Low Pressure Hose Fittings For Use With Medical Gases

Developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), the ISO 5359 standard describes certain requirements and test methods for the performance of low pressure hose fittings for use with medical gases. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN ISO 5359 Anesthesia and respiratory equipment - Low pressure hose fittings for use with medical gases.

TS EN ISO 5359 Anesthesia and Respiratory Equipment - Low Pressure Hose Fittings For Use With Medical Gases

This standard describes the requirements for low-pressure hose assemblies intended for use with certain medical gases. These medical gases include: oxygen, nitrous oxide, medical air, helium, carbon dioxide, xenon, specified mixtures of these gases, oxygen-enriched air, air for operating medical equipment, and nitrogen for operating medical equipment.

The mentioned standard includes hose assemblies at operating pressures up to 1.400 kPa and vacuum systems intended to be used in vacuum systems at pressures below 60 kPa absolute. It does not describe the criteria for the size and selection of gas-specific inlet and outlet fittings for hose assemblies.

This international standard specifically focuses on: suitability of materials, gas specificity, prevention of cross-links, cleaning, test methods, identification and information provided.

The purpose of using equipment additional components is: to achieve the intended use, to adapt the equipment to some specific uses, to facilitate the use of the equipment, to increase the performance of the equipment and to ensure that the functions of the equipment are integrated with the functions of other equipment.

The standards referred to as normative in the implementation of this standard are: ISO 1307, ISO 1402, ISO 8033, ISO 9170-1, ISO 14155, ISO 14971 and ISO 15001.

Our organization also provides safety and performance testing services for low pressure hose fittings for use with ISO 5359 medical gases within the scope of laboratory services.
