The ISO 9360-1 standard, developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), describes the properties and test methods of heat and moisture exchangers used together for humidification of inhaled gases. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN ISO 9360-1 Anesthetic and respiratory equipment - Heat and moisture exchangers (INDs) - For humidification of gases inhaled by humans - Part 1: Minimum 250 Ml ' INDs for use with liquid tidal volumes.

Gases generally available for medical use are devoid of physiologically acceptable moisture by the respiratory tract of patients. Heat and moisture exchangers are used to raise the water content and temperature of the gas delivered to the respiratory system. It is primarily intended for use independently or as part of a respiratory system.
This standard mainly covers respiratory system filters designed for humidification of respiratory gases for use in patients with a tidal volume equal to or greater than 250 ml. It also describes at least one machine port for heat and moisture exchangers and specific requirements and test methods for their evaluation.
The standards that are referred to as normative in the implementation of the ISO 9360-1 standard and indispensable for its implementation are: TS 6781 EN ISO 4135, TS EN ISO 5356-1, TS EN ISO 5356-2, TS ISO 7000, TS EN ISO 11607 and TS EN 60601- one.
Our organization also provides testing services of heat and moisture exchangers used together to humidify the gases inhaled by ISO 9360-1 people, within the scope of laboratory services.
