In the ISO 5356-1 standard developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), the performance characteristics and test methods of cones and sockets, which are the fasteners of anesthesia and respiratory equipment, are described. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN ISO 5356-1 Anesthesia and respiratory equipment - Conical fittings - Part 1: Cones and sockets. The basis of this standard is the BS EN 5356-1 standard designed by the British Standards Institute (BSI).

This standard describes dimensional and measuring requirements for cones and sockets used to connect anesthetic and respiratory devices, such as breathing systems, anesthetic gas purification systems or vaporizers. This standard covers the following fasteners:
It was ISO 5356-1 standard, it does not cover medical devices and accessories to which these connections will be provided. Also, requirements for the application of conical fittings are outside the scope of this standard. However, certain medical devices and accessories are included in relevant international standards. The requirements for threaded weight-bearing tapered fittings are specified in the ISO 5356-2 standard.
Our organization also provides performance testing services for cones and sockets, which are the connectors of ISO 5356-1 anesthesia and respiratory equipment, within the scope of laboratory services.
