TS EN ISO 6710 Disposable Containers for Sampling of Human Blood (Former TS EN 14820 Standard)

In the ISO 6710 standard developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), the characteristics and test methods of disposable containers for taking samples from human blood are described. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN ISO 6710 Disposable containers for sampling human blood. This standard replaced the abolished TS EN 14820 standard.

TS EN ISO 6710 Disposable Containers for Sampling of Human Blood (Former TS EN 14820 Standard)

This standard describes the requirements and test methods for emptied and non-emptied disposable venous (dirty) contaminated blood sample containers. However, the requirements for blood collection needles, needle holders, blood culture containers or arterial blood gas collection devices to be used for contaminated blood are outside the scope of this standard.

The EN 6710 standard, which forms the basis of the ISO 14820 standard, provides requirements and test methods for disposable containers produced by manufacturers for the collection of venous blood (vein or contaminated blood) samples obtained from the human body for in vitro diagnostic examination. This standard also applies to containers containing media for blood culture. However, this standard does not specify requirements for capillary blood sample containers or arterial blood sample containers. In addition, this standard does not cover the requirements and test methods for disposable containers designed for the collection of samples other than blood.

This standard refers to the following standard during its application: ISO 15223-1 Medical devices - Symbols for use in medical device labels, labeling and information presentation - Part 1: General requirements.

Our organization also provides testing services for disposable containers for taking samples from ISO 6710 human blood within the scope of laboratory services.
