The ISO 9360-2 standard, developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) , describes the characteristics and test methods of heat and moisture exchangers (INDs) for use in tracheostomized patients to humidify gases inhaled by humans. This standard has also been published in Turkey by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) under the title: TS EN ISO 9360-2 Anesthetic and respiratory equipment - Heat and moisture exchangers (INDs) - For humidifying gases inhaled by humans - Part 2: INDs for use in tracheostomized patients with a minimum tidal volume of 250 ml.

Since the devices used as heat and moisture exchangers have different properties, the tests applied also give different results. Therefore, the results of laboratory tests have to be reinterpreted in the clinical setting.
The standards that are referred to as normative in the implementation of the ISO 8362-6 standard and are indispensable for its implementation are:
Within the scope of laboratory services, our organization also provides testing services of heat and moisture exchangers for use in patients with tracheostomy used for humidifying the gases inhaled by ISO 9360-2 people.
