TS EN ISO 5367 Anesthesia and Respiratory Equipment - Respiratory Sets and Fittings

The ISO 5367 standard, developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), describes certain requirements and test methods for the performance of breathing sets and fittings. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN ISO 5367 Anesthesia and respiratory equipment - Breathing sets and fittings.

TS EN ISO 5367 Anesthesia and Respiratory Equipment - Respiratory Sets and Fittings

This standard describes the basic requirements for breathing sets and breathing tubes intended for use with medical equipment such as anesthetic breathing systems, ventilator breathing systems, humidifiers or nebulizers. Patient tip adapters supplied pre-assembled with breathing sets and breathing tubes, and parts supplied and assembled as components according to the manufacturer's instructions are covered by this standard.

The ISO 5367 standard also includes breathing sets with special components, such as water traps, used between the patient tip and the machine tip, supplied pre-assembled.

This international standard does not apply to breathing sets and breathing tubes used for special purposes. For example, ventilators with specific fit, pressure or breathing frequency requirements, high-frequency swing ventilation, or high-frequency jet ventilation equipment, and breathing sets and breathing tubes with special fittings for neonatal ventilation are not covered by this standard.

Examples of various types of breathing sets with patient tip adapters are included in the standard appendix. Requirements for exhalation valves, exhaust valves, adjustable pressure limiting valves, heat and moisture exchangers, breathing filters, and reservoir bags, if applicable, are not covered by this standard.

Safety and performance testing services of ISO 5367 breathing sets and fittings are also provided by our organization within the scope of laboratory services.
