TS EN ISO 9170-1 End Units for Medical Gas Piping Systems - Part 1: End Units for Compressed Medical Gases and Vacuum Use

Developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the ISO 9170-1 standard describes the characteristics and test methods of terminal units for use with compressed medical gases and vacuum for medical gas pipeline systems. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN ISO 9170-1 End units for medical gas pipeline systems - Part 1: End units for use with compressed medical gases and vacuum.

This standard is specifically designed to ensure the gas-specific assembly of terminal units, mechanical resistance, flow, leakage and pressure drop, and prevent interchange between different gases and services. It includes the following terminal units:

• Units intended for use in medical gas pipeline systems subject to the ISO 7396‑1 standard
• Units used as pressure outlets on pressure regulators according to ISO 10524‑1 standard
• Units used as pressure outlets in integrated pressure regulators with cylinder valves in accordance with ISO 10524‑3 standard
• Terminal units (oxygen, nitrous oxide, medical air, carbon dioxide, mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide, helium and oxygen mixtures, oxygen 9170, gases classified as medical devices and gas for use with certain gases for patients or medical uses in accordance with the ISO 1-93 standard mixtures, gases delivered to medical devices or for medical purposes, and gases and gas mixtures for medical use not specified here)

The requirements of this standard are used as guidelines for terminal units for other gases.
