The EN ISO 19106 standard, developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), describes the profiling features and test methods of geographic information. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN ISO 19106 Geographic information - Profiles.

This standard defines the concept of geographic information standards profile developed by the ISO / TC 211 committee and provides guidance for the creation of such profiles. The ISO / TC 211 committee is a standard technical committee established within ISO, tasked with covering digital geographic information and geomatics.
Today, geographic information technologies provide wide possibilities and perform decision-making processes based on geographic information in a holistic manner in projects suitable for different thematic purposes. Today, many countries are trying to coordinate with a perspective that differs from national, regional and global levels. In recent years, the International Standards Organization (ISO) and similar organizations have been setting standards for the service sector.
The ISO/TC 211 committee, established in the field of geographic information, designs methods and tools for digital data management, establishing standards for the acquisition, access, processing, analysis, and presentation of data among different users in a digital environment. To date, nearly 40 standards have been produced in this field, and work is still ongoing.
The main objectives of this committee are:
For these purposes, technical standards, reference models, application schemes, data modeling standards, geographic data quality standard and similar standards are prepared that ensure the interoperability of data.
Within the scope of laboratory services, our organization also provides profiling features and testing services of EN ISO 19106 geographical information to enterprises.
