In the ISO 23328-2 standard developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), non-filtering aspects and test methods used in anesthesia and respiratory equipment are explained. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN ISO 23328-2 Respiratory system filters for anesthesia and respiratory use - Part 2: Issues not related to filtration.

This standard describes the requirements for non-filtration aspects of respiratory system filters designed for anesthetic and respiratory use. It also addresses connection ports, leakage, resistance to flow, packaging, marking, and information provided. The test method presented in this standard is designed for respiratory system filters used with a clinical respiratory system. It does not apply to other filter types. Filters designed, for example, to protect vacuum sources or gas sample lines, filter compressed gases, or protect test equipment for physiological respiration measurements are not covered by this standard.
A test method to evaluate the filtration performance of respiratory system filters is also included in the ISO 23328-1 standard (TS EN ISO 23328-1 Respiratory system filters for anesthesia and respiratory use - Part 1: Salt test method to evaluate filtering performance).
Respiratory system filters are used to reduce particles, including microorganisms, in gases delivered to patients.
The standards that are referred to as normative in the application of this standard and indispensable for its implementation are: ISO 5356-1, ISO 5356-2, ISO 9360-1, ISO 11607 and IEC 60601-1.
Within the scope of laboratory services, our organization also provides testing services on subjects not related to ISO 23328-2 anesthesia and filtration used in respiratory equipment.
