TS EN 15333-1 / AC Respiratory Devices - Open Circuit, Device Containing Gas Supplied at Belly Level - Part 1: Flow Providing Device

In the EN 15333-1 standard, which is a European standard, the basic safety and performance characteristics and test methods of open circuit breathing apparatus containing gas supplied at the belly level are explained. This standard has also been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN 15333-1 / AC Respirators - Open circuit, device containing gas supplied at the belly level - Part 1: Device that provides flow. Essentially, this standard was developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI).

This European standard specifies minimum requirements to ensure that flowing devices operate safely and effectively at a minimum level. This standard applies if:

• Depths between 0 and 50 meters for devices using air, oxygen or oxygen in nitrogen mixes
• Depths between 0 and 50 meters for devices using oxygen, oxygen and helium or mixtures of oxygen, nitrogen and helium gas, and
• Water temperatures determined by the manufacturer between 4 and 34 degrees or outside these values

The requirements of this standard also take into account the interaction between the user, the equipment and the environment in which the equipment is used. However, this standard does not cover saturated diving systems, mini bell systems, or devices used only for oxygen decompression (bends).

The following standards are normatively referenced and indispensable for the implementation of this standard: EN 132 , EN 134, EN 144-1, EN 144-3, EN 397, EN 812, EN 12021, EN 14593-1, EN ISO 12209-1, EN ISO 12209-2 and EN ISO 12209-3.
