The EN 60601-2-41 standard published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) describes the requirements and test methods to be applied to surgical fixtures and diagnostic tools. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN 60601-2-41 Electrical medical equipment - Part 2-41: Certain features regarding the basic safety and required performance of lighting fixtures used in surgical interventions and diagnosis.

The mentioned standard includes endoscopes, laparoscopes and light sources within the scope of the IEC 60601-2-18 standard, general-purpose luminaires within the scope of IEC 60598-2-1 and IEC 60598-2-4 standards, fixtures used in dentistry within the scope of ISO 9680 standard and It does not include emergency lighting fixtures that fall within the scope of the IEC 60598-2-22 standard. The luminaires used in the clinical areas of hospitals and health institutions are handled in the IEC 60598-2-25 standard.
Generally, the need for surgical lighting systems used in operating rooms is very high. For example, it is necessary to ensure clear visibility of incisions of different sizes and depths or large or low contrast objects made during surgery.
LED technology is increasingly used in operating room lighting today. This technology provides low energy consumption while increasing reliability in operating rooms with its high illumination power. Designed according to new standards and representing the latest generation of white light, LED lamps are the best option due to their natural light color, high illumination quality, efficiency, affordable price, easy maintenance requirements, and less harmful effects on the environment.
Our organization also provides testing services to be applied to EN 60601-2-41 surgical fixtures and diagnostic tools within the scope of laboratory services.
