TS EN ISO 80601-2-72 Electrical Medical Equipment - Part 2-72: Specific Features for Basic Safety and Required Performance of Ventilators for Home Patient Care for Ventilator-Dependent Patients

The ISO 80601-2-72 standard, developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), describes the basic safety and performance characteristics and test methods of ventilators used during home patient care. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: TS EN ISO 80601-2-72 Electrical medical equipment - Part 2-72: Specific features for the basic safety and required performance of ventilators for home patient care for ventilator-dependent patients. .

TS EN ISO 80601-2-72 Electrical Medical Equipment - Part 2-72: Specific Features for Basic Safety and Required Performance of Ventilators for Home Patient Care for Ventilator-Dependent Patients

This standard includes basic safety and basic performance criteria with the accessories of the ventilator used for medical purposes. These ventilators may be designed for use in the home healthcare environment, or intended for use by a professional operator, or intended for use in patients dependent on mechanical ventilation for life supports.

The ISO 80601-2-72 standard also includes accessories intended by the manufacturer to be connected to a ventilator breathing system or a ventilator whose characteristics may affect the basic safety or basic performance of the ventilator. For example, breathing tubes, fittings, water traps, expiratory valve, humidifiers, breathing system filter, external electrical power supply, and distributed alarm system.

This standard is a special international standard in the standard series IEC 60601‑1 and ISO / IEC 80601.

Ventilators falling under this standard can also be used for patients who are not dependent on ventilator support. The power to run the ventilator in a home healthcare setting is often unreliable. These types of ventilators are also used in non-critical care applications of professional healthcare institutions.

Our organization also provides businesses with laboratory services, including ISO 80601-2-72 standard testing, and basic safety and performance testing services for ventilators used in home patient care.
