In the EN 1906 standard, a European standard, the spindle and fasteners, operating torques, allowable free play and safety, free angular movement and misalignment, durability, static strength and spring and unsprung door handles, knobs for doors, push pads and back plates or similar devices with operating latches are described and test methods are presented. This standard applies to door handles and knobs and other devices that operate only a latch or lock.

The EN 1906 standard defines only the performance parameters without considering the dimensions of the hardware. It introduces a classification code system that allows products to be compared, but also provides test methods and requirements for determining static strength and corrosion resistance for various equipment. These requirements and test methods are structured on the basis of category of use, durability, door mass, fire resistance, safety, reliability, corrosion resistance and type of operation, to simulate daily use.
The EN 1906 standard describes four categories of use, based on frequency and other conditions of use:
In general, this standard defines three different modes of operation: furniture with spring support (type A), furniture with springs (type B) and furniture without spring (type U).
Among the numerous test, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies it provides for businesses in various sectors, our organization also provides testing services in line with the requirements for building door handles and knobs within the scope of EN 1906 standard, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
