In the cosmetics industry, aluminum oxide functions as an abrasive, absorbent, anti-caking agent, bulking agent and opacifying agent. Aluminum hydroxide acts as a buffering agent, corrosion inhibitor and pH adjuster. The use of these compounds in medical devices and over-the-counter (OTC) drugs has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Aluminum oxide is also a material used in the construction of dental and hip implants. The FDA has determined that aluminum oxide is safe for use in devices that come into contact with soft tissue, bone, and internal organs.
Briefly, aluminum is one of the heavy metals found in both cosmetic products and some industrial products. In advanced laboratories, it is determined how much ppm aluminum contains cosmetic or industrial products. There are limits for the use of some heavy metals in the relevant legal regulations and the related products must be analyzed in this respect. However, a limit has not been determined for aluminum. For this reason, aluminum metal analyzes are made according to special demand. In these analyzes, inductively coupled plasma (ICP) method is used in accordance with international standards. In this method, it is determined whether there is aluminum in the sample tested and if so how many ppm it is.
In the tests and analyzes carried out in our organization, which has a wide range of technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and applies the most modern methods, national and international standards, as well as the legal regulations in force, are complied with.ir. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are also aluminum (Al) testing services within the framework of elemental analysis.
