Elemental Analysis - Ruthenium (Ru)

Ruthenium is a shiny and silvery metal. Many new uses are emerging for ruthenium. It is used in most electronics industries for chip resistors and electrical contacts. Ruthenium oxide is used in the chemical industry to coat the anodes of electrochemical cells for chlorine production. Ruthenium is also used in catalysts for the production of ammonia and acetic acid. Ruthenium compounds are used in solar cells that convert light energy into electrical energy.

Elemental Analysis - Ruthenium (Ru)

Ruthenium is one of the most effective hardeners for platinum and palladium and is alloyed with these metals to make electrical contacts for severe wear resistance. It is also used as a platinum alloy in some jewelry.

Ruthenium has no known biological role. However, ruthenium oxide is highly toxic.

Ruthenium is one of the rarest metals in the world. It occurs unassociated in nature, but has been more commonly associated with other platinum metals in the pentlandite and pyroxinite minerals. It is obtained commercially from nickel treatment wastes.

Since platinum ores originally came from the Ural Mountains in Russia, this element's name comes from the Latin word Ruthenia, meaning Russia.

In the tests and analyzes carried out in our organization, which has a wide range of technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and applies the most modern methods, national and international standards and legal regulations in force are complied with. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are also ruthenium (Ru) testing services within the framework of elemental analysis.
