Elemental Analysis - Silicon (Si)

Silicon is an ultrapure, blue-gray solid element with a metallic luster. Silicon is one of the most beneficial elements for humanity. It is mainly used to make alloys, including aluminium-silicon and ferro-silicon. They are used in making dynamo and transformer plates, engine blocks, cylinder heads and machine tools, and in oxidizing steel.

Elemental Analysis - Silicon (Si)

Silicon is widely used as a semiconductor in solid-state devices in the computer and microelectronics industries.

Granite and most other rocks are complex silicates and these are used in civil engineering projects. Sand (silicon dioxide or silica) and clay (aluminum silicate) are used to make concrete and cement. Sand is also the main component of glass, which has thousands of uses. Silicon is found as a silicate in pottery, enamels and high temperature ceramics.

Silicon is essential to plant life, but its use in animal cells is unclear. Phytoliths are tiny particles of silica that occur in some plants. Because these particles do not decay, they remain in fossils and provide useful evolutionary evidence.

Silicon is not toxic, but some silicates, such as asbestos, are carcinogenic.

Silicon makes up 28 percent by mass of the earth's crust and is the second most abundant element after oxygen.

In the tests and analyzes carried out in our organization, which has a wide range of technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and applies the most modern methods, national and international standards and legal regulations in force are complied with. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are also silicon (Si) testing services within the framework of elemental analysis.
