Rhenium is a silvery metal with a very high melting point . However, it has the third highest melting point among elements after carbon and tungsten. Rhenium is used as an additive in alloys with tungsten and molybdenum to impart useful properties. These alloys are used in furnace filaments and X-ray machines. Rhenium is very hard and highly resistant to wear and arc corrosion, but it tarnishes slowly in humid air. Because of these properties, it is commonly used as an electrical contact material.

Rhenium catalysts are extremely resistant to poisoning and are used for the hydrogenation of fine chemicals.
Rhenium is among the rarest metals in the world. It does not occur in nature as a compound of an uncombined or extractable mineral type. However, it spread in the earth's crust in the form of about 0,001 parts per million. The commercial production of rhenium is by extraction from flue dusts of molybdenum smelters.
Rhenium is used as an important component in superalloys for blades in turbine engines. This is the biggest use today. Rhenium is an ideal metal for use at very high temperatures, making it suitable for rocket engines.
In the tests and analyzes carried out in our organization, which has a wide range of technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and applies the most modern methods, national and international standards and legal regulations in force are complied with. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are also rhenium (Re) testing services within the framework of elemental analysis.
