Elemental Analysis - Palladium (Pd)

Palladium is a corrosion-resistant, lustrous, silvery-white metal. Most palladium is used in catalytic converters for automobiles. It is also used in jewelry and some dental fillings and crowns. White gold is an alloy of gold that has been decolored by alloying it with another metal, sometimes palladium. The bright, silvery palladium is the element that gives white gold its color.

Elemental Analysis - Palladium (Pd)

It is used in ceramic capacitors found in laptop computers and mobile phones in the electronics industry. They consist of layers of palladium sandwiched between layers of ceramic.

Finely divided palladium is a good catalyst and is used for hydrogenation and dehydrogenation reactions. Hydrogen diffuses easily from the heated palladium and this provides a way to separate and purify the gas. Palladium's most incredible ability is that it can absorb hydrogen up to 900 times its volume. With this ability, palladium is used to store and filter hydrogen.

Palladium is soft and does not tarnish in air, making it a popular metal for jewellery.

Palladium has no known biological role. It is not toxic.

Palladium is commonly found in sulfide minerals such as braggite. Commercially, nickel is extracted as a by-product of copper and zinc refining.

In the tests and analyzes carried out in our institution, which has a wide range of technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and applies the most modern methods, national and international standards and legal regulations in force are complied with. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are also palladium (Pd) testing services within the framework of elemental analysis.
