Elemental Analysis - Strontium (Sr)

Strontium is a non-radioactive element and is a naturally occurring silvery metal. About 99 percent of the strontium in the human body is concentrated in the bones. Strontium chloride is the most common form of strontium found in dietary supplements.

Elemental Analysis - Strontium (Sr)

Most of the strontium produced today is used in the production of color television picture tubes. It is also used to refine zinc and combined with iron to make magnets.

Two strontium compounds, strontium carbonate and strontium nitrate, burn with a bright, red flame and are used in fireworks and flares. Strontium is the base material used to make many compounds. For example, strontium carbonate is used to make certain types of glass.

Strontium reacts vigorously with water and darkens rapidly in air. Therefore, it should be stored in such a way that it does not come into contact with water and air. Due to its extreme reactivity to air, this element always occurs naturally with other elements and compounds.

Strontium has similar uses to calcium and barium. However, it is rarely used due to its high cost.

Its high-energy radiation is used to generate an electric current. For this reason, it is a mineral used in spacecraft, remote weather stations, and navigational buoys.

In the tests and analyzes carried out in our institution, which has a wide range of technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and applies the most modern methods, national and international standards and legal regulations in force are complied with. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are also strontium (Sr) testing services within the framework of elemental analysis.
