Terbium is a soft and silvery metal. Terbium is used to supplement calcium fluoride, calcium tungstate and strontium molybdate compounds, all used in solid state devices. Terbium is also used in low-energy light bulbs and mercury lamps. Terbium has been used to increase the safety of medical x-rays by allowing the same quality image to be produced with a much shorter exposure time. Terbium salts are also used in laser devices.

An alloy of terbium, dysprosium, and iron stretches and contracts in a magnetic field. This effect forms the basis of sound systems that sit on a flat surface such as window glass and then act as a loudspeaker.
Terbium has no known biological role. But it has low toxicity.
Terbium is recovered from monazite and bastnaesite minerals by ion exchange and solvent extraction. It is also derived from euxenite, a complex oxide containing 1 percent or more terbium.
The metal is generally produced commercially by reducing anhydrous fluoride or chloride with calcium metal under vacuum. It can also be produced by electrolyzing terbium oxide in molten calcium chloride.
In the tests and analyzes carried out in our organization, which has a wide range of technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and applies the most modern methods, national and international standards and legal regulations in force are complied with. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are also terbium (Tb) testing services within the framework of elemental analysis.
