Elemental Analysis - Gallium (Ga)

Gallium is a silvery, glass-like, soft metal. It is close to non-metallic elements in the periodic table, and its metallic properties are not very clear. Solid gallium is brittle and a weaker conductor of electricity than lead. Gallium is a liquid element like cesium, francium, and mercury.

Elemental Analysis - Gallium (Ga)

Gallium is generally considered non-toxic. However, if exposed to high temperatures, gallium can release toxic fumes that form a corrosive alkaline solution with water.

Low melting point gallium alloys are used as non-toxic substitutes for mercury in some medical thermometers. Gallium arsenide, an important semiconductor material for high efficiency, is mainly used for laser diodes, light-emitting diodes and solar panels.

Gallium is not free in nature and there are no minerals with significant gallium content. Commercially, most of the gallium is extracted as a byproduct of aluminum and zinc production. Gallium is also extracted from the flue dusts of coal.

Briefly, it melts at room temperature and has one of the largest liquid ranges of any metal. Gallium readily alloys with most metals and is used to form low melting point alloys.

In the tests and analyzes carried out in our organization, which has a wide range of technological equipment, trained and experienced staff and applies the most modern methods, national and international standards and legal regulations in force are complied with. Among the numerous tests carried out in this context, there are gallium (Ga) testing services within the framework of elemental analysis.
